    Where the casino is

Bear Claw Casino & Hotel stands on Highway 9, north of the town of Carlyle. It is on White Bear First Nations, in the Moose Mountains of southeast Saskatchewan. In a straight line, the casino is 14 km from Carlyle. The mailing address is Box 1210, Carlyle SK S0C 0R0.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, or SIGA, runs the casino. SIGA is a First Nations non-profit with seven casinos in the province. Bear Claw first opened in 1993, and the provincial government closed it after about three months. That was a disputed chapter between First Nations and the province over gaming. It reopened in November 1996 and has run since, and the hotel opened on July 1, 2010.

Electronic table games go by the name The Circuit: Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette and Three-Card Poker. Before 4 pm it runs on auto play, which means the game deals itself. From 4 pm to midnight a live dealer runs it. Separate hours for live table games are not published, so call 306-577-4577 to ask. Guests must be 19 or older to gamble.

    The SIGA Rewards card

There is no charge for a SIGA Rewards card. One card works at all seven SIGA casinos in Saskatchewan. There are four tiers: Emerald, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Members get 10% off restaurant and deli orders and 10% off the hotel's regular room rate. The card is also needed to check in an RV at Guest Services.

    Online play in Saskatchewan

PlayNow.com is operated by SIGA and is the only legal online gambling site in Saskatchewan. It is for players 19 and older. The provincial government calls the competing private sites illegal platforms. SIGA also runs Bear Claw Casino near Carlyle.

This guide carries paid links, marked Ad, on the home page only. They lead to a private online casino partner that pays the guide a commission and can change. That site is not PlayNow.com and holds no Saskatchewan licence. It has no connection with SIGA, Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan or any casino in this guide. Saskatchewan self-exclusion programs, which let a person bar themselves from gambling, do not reach it.
